Use about a half cup in your bath. mp|1|Citronella Soap||1 cup grated Castile soap|1/2 cup water|10 drops citronella essential oil|5 drops eucalyptus essential oil|1 T. dried, crushed pennyroyal leaves|||||||||||Mix the ingredients into the melted soap/water mixture. With an electric mixer, whip the soap until it has doubled in volume. Spoon the soap into the prepared molds, pushing it into the molds as best you can (the beating action cools the mix, so work quickly). If the mixture has cooled off and thickened so much you can't put it into the molds, hand mold the soap into large balls. lip|1|Cocoa Butter Lip Balm||2.5 oz. cocoa butter|2.6 oz. beeswax|1.4 oz. sweet almond oil|||||||||||||Melt all together and then pour into containers. lotionbar|1|Cocoa/Shea Butter Lotion Bars||1 part beeswax|1 part cocoa butter|1 part shea butter|1 part oil (coconut, emu, etc.)||||||||||||Melt all and pour into a container or mold. lotionbar|1|Coconut Oil Lotion Bar||1 part beeswax|1 part coconut oil|1 part grapeseed oil, apricot oil or sweet almond|1 tsp. Pour a thin layer onto the plate and place cookie cutters on this. Let hardent. Melt down the soap base; add scent and color. Pour the base into cookie cutter and let harden. Twist the cookie cutter to loosen it from the plate. Loosen edges of cutter from soap (metal molds do this very well, but flexible plastic works great, too). Push soap out just a bit (about 1/4") and use a knife to slice off the soap that was on the plate. Pop soap out the rest of the way. mp|1|Cookie Cutter Soaps||Melt and Pour soap base(opaque)|Scent (optional)|Color (must be liquid, like gels)|cookie sheet (must have at least a 1/2 in. edge on it)|knife (to swirl your colors!)|cookie cutters||||||||||Melt down the soap base and scent. When this dries, pop the block of soap out of the cookie sheet. Use cookie cutters to cut up the soap.
There are lots of different things you can do with this... Some ideas:
Crisco is just a blend of veggie oils and will make a nice hand cream if you can get past the idea of the shortening. I put the T. of clay in a dish and spoon a small amount of the melted soap and mix it into a paste, then add it to the soap. This eliminates lumps of clay and makes a nice smooth soap. cp|1|Easy Crisco Soap||3 lbs. Crisco (1 can)|6 oz. lye|12 oz. water|||||||||||||Melt/heat the Crisco in a enamel pan and place on stove to melt and heat.
Place cold water in a glass bowl and slowly add lye while stirring with a wooden. Stir until water is clear if you can.
When the Crisco and lye are warm to the touch, pour lye into Crisco while stirring. Keep stirring until you get trace.
Trace is when it thickens to the point where you can drop some of the mix back in to itself and it leaves a trail. At this point use any herbs, scent, or coloring and stir and pour mold(s). This recipe fits nicely in an 8x8 inch container, but other containers, such as pringles cans or specialty soap molds work just fine, too.
Put molds in a warm, insulated place, let set 24 hours and then cut. Place on to rack and let cure for 2-3 weeks. bombs|1|Fizzling Bath Bombs|Majestic Mountain Sage|1/4 c. baking soda|2 T. cornstarch|2 T. citric acid|1T. coconut, almond, avocado or apricot kernel oil|1/2 T. water|3-6 drops of liquid colorant (optional)|1/4 tsp. fragrance oil or essential oil of your choice|||||||||Put all dry ingredients into a bowl - mix well. For each 2 oz. of mix, I put in 1 ml. Herbal essential oils. This is milliliter not part on the essential oil. It is not very much. You can substitute fragrance oils or other essential oils but will have to use judgment on how much. Remember also that not fragrance or essential oils are sensible to use in baths. Check with someone who knows if you are not sure first since a person will be soaking in them.
Note: You can make in the quantity you desire: (example a 'part' can be one tsp., one T., one cup, one bucketful, etc.)

You can put the salt in lidded containers and shake well (but not too hard) to distribute the color and fragrance. Spread the salt out on wax paper and allow to dry completely. Layer in a glass jar. More fragrances can be used if desired (for ex. use 4 instead of just 2).

mp|1|Honey Bee Soap||4 oz. Opaque MP soap|1 T. beeswax pellets|1 T. honey|||||||||||||Melt beeswax and keep warm/liquid. Melt soap base and then mix in beeswax. Add honey and keep stirring until melted. Pour into mold.
This recipe looks neat in a similar mold - Milky Way Molds have a bee and a flower. Stir in the ground oatmeal a little at a time (stir constantly). Keep stirring until it gets fairly cool, and then add in remaining whole oatmeal. Keep stirring until it gets very cool and thick (almost like a sludge). Pour into mold.
The key to this recipe is making sure the soap is pretty cool so the oatmeal stays suspended in the finished bar. The bar has a nice natural oatmeal smell, but the scent adds subtle smell that is very nice. View a picture of this soap. lotion|1|Jasmine Lotion||1/4 cup apricot kernel oil|1 tsp. beeswax|1 tsp. cocoa butter|1 tsp. coconut oil|1/4 cup distilled water|1 tsp. aloe vera gel|1/2 tsp. glycerin|5 drops jasmine fragrance oil||||||||Melt the cocoa butter and then blend in the oils over low heat - allow to cool. After it has melted, add vitamin E oil and remaining ingredients. After the soap has cooled and thickened, scoop out a small handful of the soap and roll into a ball. Flatten the ball to create a disk shape. As the soap cures, press the soap into a firmer and smoother shape. If you like, mix a little orange oil on your hands and polish the soap smooth.
This soap will discolor if the lavender buds are added too soon to the melted soap. If you do not like the rough surface and the darkened color, omit the lavender buds and add extra lavender oil. Or, after a week of curing, you can slice thin shavings from the soap to smooth it and remove any dark patches. milk|1|Lavender Milk Bath||1 c. powdered milk |2-3 drops lavender oil||||||||||||||Mix and add to bath. lip|1|Lip Gloss||2 tsp. beeswax|7 tsp. castor, jojoba or sweet almond oil|1 tsp. honey|5 drops of an essential oil (lemon, orange, peppermint, etc.)||||||||||||Melt the oil and beeswax until beeswax is melted. Set aside.
Mix together the sunflower oil, coconut oil, and beeswax in a glass measuring cup. Place the cup with the oils--beeswax mixture in a pan of water (about 1 to 2 inches of water), making a water bath. Heat over medium heat until the beeswax is melted (8 to 10 minutes), stirring occasionally.
When the wax is melted, bring the mint solution almost to boiling (put the glass cup with the mint water/borax in the microwave on High for 1 minute, or use a water bath on the stove top).
Remove the oils-beeswax mixture from the water bath. Slowly add mint water/borax to the mixture in the blender and whip.
Allow the lotion to cool completely. The consistency may seem a bit thin, but it will thicken as it cools. The lotion will be pale green in color. You may add the peppermint oil now if you wish.
Pour the lotion into a clean container with a lid. To use, massage a small amount into your skin.
Note: Mint water is made by boiling fresh or dried mint leaves in water and then letting the mixture cool. Strain off the mint leaves. I use 1-cup fresh mint (1/4 cup dried mint leaves) to 1-cup water.

Pour into separate molds and let harden. When hard, pop out and cut into small pieces (1/4-1/2 in.).
Melt opaque soap and scent. Spay confetti pieces with alcohol and place in mold. Let opaque base cool for a while until a skin has formed twice (you don't want to melt your confetti!). Pour over confetti pieces in mold.
This recipe works nice in any tube type mold (try PVC with an end cap!). If you use a tube mold you'll want to make bigger pieces of confetti and pile them up in the mold and pour over, let harden and then slice. This gives a nice stained glass effect.

(This recipe includes both of CP soap and M & P soap.)|Your own Cold Pour soap recipe|Spicy Plum Fragrance Oil|Melt & Pour base|Purple Colorant/Dye||||||||||||1. Make enough of your usual CP recipe to fill your mold halfway or more depending on the affect you want. Scent it with Spicy Plum fragrance oil and color it if you like. You can leave it white or make it fancier by swirling in some purple soap. Cover you mold and insulate as usual.
2. The next step is to fill the remainder of your mold with M & P base. Start melting the M & P base after step #1 has been completed. The amount of base you will melt depends on how much is needed to fill your mold. For example, if you usually make #10 pounds of CP soap in your mold, but you only filled in halfway for this recipe, then you will need to prepare #5 of M & P base now.
Melt your base, add purple colorants, and scent with Spicy Plum fragrance oil. Uncover your CP soap and pour your M & P right on top of it. Your CP soap should be reasonably firm to the touch before you do this. One or two hours between pours works for me. Cover and insulate your mold again.
OPTIONAL: You can give a fancier look by sprinkling the top of the M & P with something that suggests "sprinkled sugar". If you work quickly, before there is a "skin" on you M & P, you can sprinkle sugar on the top of your poured soap. You have a little more time if you add a thin sprinkling of silver mica. If your mica doesn't land evenly, it can be dusted across the surface with a feather then rubbed evenly across the surface the next day.
3. Uncover your mold 24 hours later and cut as usual. Your CP soap will be topped with a layer of transparent, purple M & P that will dress it up for a festive holiday look. Yes, your layers will be stuck together.

2. The next step is to fill the remainder of your mold with M & P base. Start melting the M & P base after step #1 has been completed. castor oil to a double boiler, cover, and let melt completely.
(Never let the temp get over 160 degrees.)
2. While all this is slowly melting put the oatmeal and dried rosemary
in a small food processor and grind to a medium course consistancy.
Add the grated lemon & orange peel and set aside. You should have just
slightly over 1/8th cup all together.
3. When the M&P & beeswax are fully melted remove from heat and transfer
to a 2-cup glass measuring cup--easier to pour into the molds with
this.
4. Let mixture cool until fine skin appears then add EO's and stir in
well.
5. Let mixture cool until skin forms again and then add the oatmeal &
herb mixture.
6. Keep stirring periodically as mixture cools. You will notice that
as the mixture cools the oatmeal & herbs start to stay more suspended
and don't sink to the bottom.
7. When your satisfied that the majority of the herbs are staying
suspended pour into molds.
8. Immediatly put mold into the freezer for 15 minutes then remove.
