My MIL’s birthday is on Monday and tonight we are taking her and FIL out to dinner and then to our place for – cake of course   This cake was inspired Eric Lanlard’s design in the book Glamour Cakes.  Looking back I could have used a smaller tip for the lavender buds – this especially came to mind when my 4 yr old walked in and said “Mommy, you made a grape cake?”   Gotta love kids   But I still like it – and its chocolate cake so what’s NOT to like?
