More butterflies – these will be for Cassie’s bday cake this week
Pink/purple/blue…made the dark chocolate darker this time and got it colder before adding the color so it didn’t smudge the dark outlines like last time.

Welcome to my cake blog ~ these are my cake creations. I love cake decorating. I have been doing it in general since my daughter's first birthday in 2003 but in Feb of 2007 I began taking Wilton courses to learn technique. The rest is history :) Feel free to browse each page or by categories (on the right). If you have any questions, please feel free to email me: cakes@halderman.net

Well this is my first attempt at cookies since really learning how to do them. Turn out better when you do the right thing LOL

This was my first try to make a horse out of fondant. Its for Cassie’s bday cake in a few weeks. Inspired by a pic of another molded horse I found online. Loved the cuteness of it. So here’s my horsey…

I’ve been playing with making more gumpaste flowers. Have a LONG way to go
But here’s my first bouquet I put together. Just some random flowers. I’ve since changed the way the rose turns out but need to put a whole rose together…so a pic of that will come in a few days
This is a close up pic of it but it looks better/more full in person. All of the flowers blossoms are 100% edible! (wire stems are not

Made for a friend for her 40th bday, 70′s themed party! Colors were inspired from the retro ribbon I found. All fondant and the topper is gumpaste.

This was made for a friend’s son for his 3rd birthday. Cake is iced in red frosting and the ladders are made of chocolate melts and painted with a silver pearl dust. Windows and accents are colorflow. The puppy, hose and hydrant are made of fondant.
